This leather coaster set is an award-winning piece from the Bank of Korea Money Museum’s YOUNG Design Contest. It was created based on the museum’s collection of ‘Su (壽) · Bok (福) · Gang (康) · Nyeong (寧)’ coins, which inspired its motif. The characters ‘壽福康寧’ symbolise longevity, happiness, health, and peace, and have been modernly reinterpreted to bring their auspicious meaning into everyday life. The design preserves the original shape of the coins, incorporating intricate engraving techniques and finished with soft tones to enhance its decorative value.
